Volume 2: Peak2Soon; Paul Green was a fighter; and I'm not ok
A monthly wrap of great writing coming from the R4R community
Welcome to another edition of Writing 4 Resilience (W4R): your monthly digest of some of the best writing happening in the Running 4 Resilience community.
To kick things off, last month we had Brent Ford launch Peak2Soon and his post first was a cracker, as he talked about training for a 100km run, and opened up about his struggles with his eating.
Breeny wrote a powerful post about Paul Green’s suicide and drew a comparison to his Dad’s (Paul Breen) passing. He also shared a 2nd heartfelt post to commemorate the 12th anniversary of his Dad’s death.
Timmy Fulton opened up and said he needs help, which was a terrific read and a great example of what society needs more of. Well said Timmy, and we hope you're on the mend mate.
Over the course of 3 blogs, Benny A tackled his biggest fears and wrote about eating disorders and the steps he took when designing Alfred to prevent it from adding to that.
In the R4R Rag - we met Shooter, Catriona, Maria and had a recap of R4R’s first road trip to the City2Surf! Plus the Rag’s subscriber total ticked over the 200 mark, doubling from 100 in just 3 months! Well done Breeny!
Nick Karpetis shared how he got the name “Milkbar Nick” as an up-and-coming DJ, and shared his first “best of” post.
And last but not least, Sam Wilson shared his thoughts and insights into suicide. Sam keeps kicking goals at the moment as he not only passed the 4-month sober mark, but also welcomed into the world his first child! Well done mate!
We also had 2 writer catch ups, which are quickly becoming a monthly highlight!
Last night’s chat was the best one yet, as we all walked away pretty confident that we’d solved all the world’s problems! hahaha no seriously… we did.
Going forward this recap will be monthly, but with all the writing happening it could no doubt become weekly!
Just. Keep. Writing.
